Potty Update

For those of you who have been with this blog from the beginning, you may recall that we've been doing Elimination Communication (or Infant Potty Training) with Violet since we brought her home from the hospital. (see blog entry from August 21, 2006) It has been a learning experience for all of us and we are excited to report that Violet has been pretty much potty trained for the past month! We still put diapers on her at night, but she typically wakes up dry. We have no way of knowing if she would have potty trained this early without the Elimination Communication, but we are excited to have reached this milestone before her second birthday. We still have the occasional accident and we sometimes put a diaper on her if we know she won't be paying attention to her internal signals. (going to the Wiggles Park!) She has learned that if she announces "Mommy...pee pee potty!" while stuck in her carseat on a long trip that it is a sure way to get us to pull over.

The Week Before Sajini's Wedding

Laurel and Violet came up to NJ the week prior to Sajini's wedding (see previous post) to spend time with the Fergusons. We had a great time playing and visiting the Wiggles Park. Reagan, Jack, and Violet got along really well and had a great time....the grown-ups all got along pretty well too! It was hard to leave, but the Ferguson's are planning on coming down for Violet's birthday, so we'll have a happy reunion in two weeks time.

We also got to spend several days with Ray and Autumn that week. We went to church with them and went to the Cheesecake Factory, too. Violet is in love with her "Ockle Ray" and had to know where he was at all times. She wanted him to push her in the stroller, but she spent the whole time turning around to be sure he was still back there!

Sajini's Wedding

We Chrumas went up to Philadelphia for Sajini's wedding. Wow....it was amazing! Laurel was honored to be a bridesmaid and it was especially exciting because the wedding was on May 24th...our anniversary! (5 years!) Ceremony at Tenth (where we got married), Luncheon reception at the Union League, and a later dinner/dance reception at Lemon Hill Mansion! The whole day was amazing and beautiful. Sajini wore a western-style dress (with fuscia heels hidden underneath) for the ceremony and for the first half of the reception, but she changed into a traditional Indian gown part way through. She looked like a model.

Congratulations to Sajini and Josh Christman!

It's Been a While!

After some harassment by various family members, here is a new blog entry! The past few months have flown by, so here are pictures of some of the highlights.
