This past Friday we were invited to a dinner party in honor of Jason's former boss from U Penn. It was held a Fossett's Restaraunt, which is located in the Keswick Estates Hotel. Mrs. Fossett was one of Thomas Jefferson's slaves who worked as a chef in his household for many years until Jefferson died. In his will he left her to be sold, but her free husband was able to buy her back along with two of their children. What a different time! The food was fantastic and the executive chef came out at the end to talk with us and tell us about his background. He went to culinary school in Scottsdale, AZ, so Jason was thrilled about that!
